Bluedog

This Work: We have many new features available

Our staff of Java developers, user interface and information architects, testing and documentation personnel have been together for years. The history of the firm starts with its founding in 1998 as a dot-com application service provider -- notably, Bluedog garnered one of the first SAP hosting licenses. After the crash, we paid back our investors, and starting applying our expertise for government and commercial concerns. Now, we offer hosted solutions as well as custom-built ones. See Positions for applying to join the team.

The approach:  Agile with a dose of cleverness: Bluedog has pursued a CMMI certification of our processes by applying agile practices. We started with CMMI maturity level 2 generic goals and practices, analyzed the applicability of a series of agile methods and identified their contribution in the fulfillment of each process area. The result is a modified agile methodology which achieves the “fulfillment delta” required for a small or medium size company to reach CMMI level 2 using agile methods. Bluedog's methodology is a combination of XP and Scrum for implementing the requirement management areas common to government governance and configuration management requirements.

History: Bluedog's pedigree, as it were, stems from our 1998 founding as an application service provider partnered with SAP. In 2006 we re-architected our solution to be multi-tenant, single-database offering. In 2009 we have over 2,400 paying users in Workbench, our social collaboration toolset for knowledge worker organizations.

With offices in Dublin, Ireland and Washington DC, we're cross-Atlantic, as well, selling in both the U.S. and the E.U. markets, with language localization native.

Our technology is also best-of-breed: as Apple developers, we use the same enterprise environment [WebObjects] as iTunes and the Apple Store run on.
